The little cottage on the church street is somewhat a rarity, open from more than last 10 years, Thai Garden House serves authentic Thai Cuisine. It has good selection for vegetarians as well as Gluten free options are available. As soon as you walk in the restaurant you can smell all the exotic flavours of Thailand. Head chef has more than 18 years of experience working in various thai establishment . The decor is good and tables are nicely set, they have a place to sit outside as well.
We have a soft corner for their Deep Fried Tofu served with their gorgeously rich peanut satay sauce sprinkled with roasted sesame seeds. It is crunchy and full of flavour though very filling but we never had enough of it.
Fresh spring rolls which is fresh shredded lettuce, mint and noodles filled in rice paper rolls. It is served with a special delectable tamarind sauce. They were fresh and were like a dumplings in different form.
Our favourite Thai is Green Curry with Vegetables. Is was full of fluffy tofu pieces and lots of vegetables. The tofu was soft and chewy not dry, vegetables were crunchy. The broth was spicy and creamy, very flavoursome with sweet basil leaves on the top. It was on the spicy side but can be done mild on request. It is served with Jasmine rice which is very sticky rice but goes very well with thai curries.Green Curry comes in a big bowl and is sufficient for two people.
If you love Thai food visit to this place is a must with so many options for vegetarians you won’t come back with empty stomach. They also have a yummy Mango Crepe served with ice cream which I am looking forward to trying next time.
